This document sets out our service terms, warranty coverage, and liability guidelines in accordance with UK consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015[cite: 1].
Nothing in this agreement affects your statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015[cite: 1]. Services must be performed with reasonable care and skill, and any goods supplied as part of the repair must be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose[cite: 1]. Where services do not meet statutory standards, you are entitled to statutory remedies under UK law[cite: 1].
Simple Tech Solutions Barrow provides a standard 30-day warranty on repair labour and replaced parts, covering defects directly relating to the specific repair service performed[cite: 1]. This warranty does not cover new faults, physical damage, liquid damage, software corruption, or issues arising from misuse or unauthorised modifications after the device has been returned to you[cite: 1].
You understand that while we will make every reasonable effort to diagnose and repair your device, some devices may be beyond economical or technical repair[cite: 1]. We do not guarantee that any repair attempt will be successful[cite: 1].
You acknowledge that complex electronics repair carries inherent risks, including further component degradation or pre-existing structural failure within ageing hardware[cite: 1]. We are not responsible for pre-existing issues or additional damage that occurs due to underlying component fragility during a good-faith repair attempt[cite: 1]. Subject to statutory liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence), we are not liable for indirect or consequential business losses arising from operational failure[cite: 1].
You acknowledge that repairs involving soldering, micro-soldering, or board-level work carry specialised risks, including thermal stress, lifted circuit traces, hidden microscopic faults, or complete board failure[cite: 1]. We exercise professional care and skill during board-level repairs, but cannot be held liable for irreparable microscopic board damage resulting from pre-existing micro-fractures or component fatigue[cite: 1].
Simple Tech Solutions Barrow shall not be responsible at any time for any loss, alteration, or corruption of any software, data, or files due to pre-existing problems, system diagnostics, or hardware stress[cite: 1]. You are strongly advised to back up all important data prior to handing over your device. While reasonable precautions are taken, intensive diagnostics or OS repairs can occasionally trigger unexpected storage failures on compromised drives[cite: 1]. You release Simple Tech Solutions Barrow from liability for data loss, and acknowledge that data recovery is provided on a best-effort basis without guarantees of success[cite: 1].
We are not responsible for undiscovered pre-existing issues or latent defects that manifest during or after testing[cite: 1]. Repair of additional discovered issues will proceed only with your prior approval and agreement on cost[cite: 1].
All repaired or unrepairable devices must be collected within 30 days of notification that the device is ready[cite: 1]. All service charges must be settled in full before equipment is returned[cite: 1]. Devices unclaimed after 30 days of notification will be treated as abandoned. Simple Tech Solutions Barrow reserves the right to dispose of or recycle abandoned property to recover storage costs, in accordance with applicable disposal guidelines, and holds no liability for disposed-of abandoned items[cite: 1].
By delivering your device for service and authorising the repair, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms and liability limitations.
